A weak cold front moved through the District in the morning hours bringing moist air. Strong thunderstorms developed over the Palmer Divide around 1400. A very strong thunderstorm developed south of Castle Rock and moved slowly to the north producing rain totals exceeding 2 inches. An additional line of thunderstorms developed later on moving to the northwest prompting NWS flash flood watches and warnings for the FMBA.
